James Peckham is the Founder, principal Thai
practitioner, and head instructor, and is an Approved Instructor with
the Thai Healing Alliance International (THAI), and an Approved
Provider with the National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage
& Bodywork (NCBTMB), as well as a New Mexico Registered Massage
Therapy Instructor and Licensed Massage Therapist. Since 1992, James
has been a full-time Licensed Massage Therapist (#1086) in New Mexico,
USA, and specialist in Traditional Thai Massage since 1996. He has
traveled to Thailand many times, and studied extensively with
Thailand's Master Teacher, Mr. Pichet Boonthumme. He has traveled
through all regions of Thailand, and embraced the Thai culture and
spirit with respect and gratitude. As a college instructor of Spanish,
Portuguese and English, James has loved learning the Thai language. He
also teaches vegetarian Thai cookery, and enjoys sharing the secrets of
the authentic Thai flavors and dishes. James has facilitated
study-tours to Thailand and assists foreign students in cultural
intricacies, being a joyful observer without judgment, and he
exemplifiess mutual respect, and being a sensitive, compassionate
global citizen. With a mother who was born and raised in
Brazil, James grew up in California, first and foremost a global
citizen, who lived with indigenous peoples in the Amazon Basin of South
America in 1967 in Ecuador, Peru 1967-'68 & 1970, Mexico 1971, '72,
'78-79', and in Colombia 1975-'76. He has a Masters of Arts degree in
Mexican History, and has taught Spanish, Portuguese & English as a
Second Language for many years. James brings more than 40 years of
bridging cultures, learning and appreciating indigenous languages and
cultures, and years of community organization and human rights activism
to his love for Thai Massage as an indigenous folk healing tradition.
This exceptionally rich life experience inspires and enlivens all his
