Class Descriptions
64-Hour Certification Course iThaiMassage offers a Thai Massage Certification Course, and stand-alone classes that may be taken separately. The 64-Hour Certification Course is designed for massage therapists who want to practice Thai Massage professionally. It is comprised of four 16-hour classes: Supine Position; Side Position; Prone, Inverted & Sitting Positions; and Thai Massage Integration. The first three classes may be taken in any order. The Integration class is intended as the fourth and final class of the series. Prerequisites: None. Participants do not need to be Licensed Massage Therapists or students of massage. Experience in martial arts, Tai Chi, Chi Gung, yoga, Pilates, physical therapy, personal training, movement therapies, and related modalities can be very beneficial, but are not required. Thai Massage Side Position (16 CE Hours) Intended as Part Two of the 64-HourThai Massage Certification Course, but may be taken in any order For students who want to study Thai Massage in depth, and practice professionally 15 hours of hands-on instruction in the Side Position sequence 1 hour of Thai Massage history, philosophy, and sustainable body mechanics
Thai Massage Prone, Inverted & Sitting Positions (16 CE Hours) Intended as Part Three of the 64-Hour Thai Massage Certifcation Course, but may be taken in any order For students who want to study Thai Massage in depth, and practice professionally 15 hours of hands-on instruction in the Prone, Inverted & Sitting Positions sequence 1 hour of Thai Massage history, philosophy, and sustainable body mechanics
Thai Massage Integration (16 CE Hours) Intended as the Fourth and Final Class of the 64-Hour Thai Massage Certification Course For students who want to study Thai Massage in depth, and practice professionally 15 hours of supervised practice integrating Supine, Side, Prone, Inverted & Sitting positions Emphasis on working without notes, in a flowing sequence, using sustainable body mechanics and tuning in to the needs of individual clients regarding appropriate pressure and specific areas requiring attention
Thai Massage Sampler (8 CE Hours) Intended as a short introduction to the uniqueness and potential of Thai Massage Not a pre-requisite for the 64-Hour Thai Massage Certification Course Basic hands-on introduction to Thai Massage on a mat on the floor 1 hour of introduction to the history and philosophy of Traditional Thai Massage 7 hours hands-on practice of a sample sequence that includes moves in all positions
Thai Massage Introduction (16 CE Hours) Intended for 1) massage therapists and bodyworkers who are considering taking the full 64-hour Certification Course in Thai Massage; 2) bodyworkers who might not become Thai Massage practitioners, but who want to have a clearer idea of the nature & practice of Thai Massage; and 3) non-professionals who want to provide therapeutic touch for friends & family Not a pre-requisite for the 64-Hour Thai Massage Certification Course Introduction to the unique Thai approach to bodywork on a mat on the floor Excellent for non-professionals, as Thai Massage For Friends and Family 1 hour of introduction to the history and philosophy of Traditional Thai Massage 15 hours of a powerful, concentrated hands-on sequence, for a 90-minute session
Thai Massage Advanced Class (16 CE Hours) Pre-requisite: For students who have completed the 64-Hour Thai Massage Certification Course, including 1) Supine Position; 2) Side Position; 3) Prone, Inverted & Sitting Positions; and 4) Thai Massage Integration. Advanced techniques for specific needs and pathologies, and for deeper pressure when needed Therapeutic session strategies adapted to the individual needs of clients
Thai Massage Practice Class (4 CE Hours) Pre-requisite: For students who have completed any other Thai Massage classes Supervised review and practice sessions
Body Mechanics For Massage Therapists and Bodyworkers (8 CE Hours) Intended for massage therapists and bodyworkers who have work on both the floor and table Proven techniques for sustainable body mechanics on the table and on the floor
Massage Ethics (4 CE Hours) Intended to help bodyworkers become more aware and prepared in all ethical issues relating to massage, Professional ethics for massage therapists: Appropriate touch for therapists and clients; client confidentiality; punctuality and professionalism in appointments and cancellation policies; dependability; talking during sessions; working sick; honoring clients requests; therapist self-care, etc. Includes sharing individual professional experiences and solutions for challenging situations.
Private Tutoring (5 to 40 CE Hours) One-on-one private tutoring Minimum of five hours, maximum of 40 hours
